The Conficker Worm was expected to do its dastardly best on April 1st, 2009. Apparently that didn’t happen – no great apocalyptic event…
So far, so good.Except for this news from The Inquirer.
According to reports, Conficker has updated itself and dumped a mystery payload on infected computers. The data package seems to be a keystroke logger and so the worm is probably after secret data.Your computer may be already infected.
My online colleague, Paul Myers, has a simple and free online test.To find out if your computer is at risk go to:
http://www.talkbiz.com/confickertest/If you find out you’ve got the Conficker virus, Paul recommends that you disconnect from the internet and find a machine that isn’t infected, and get a copy of Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool.
Good Luck!
