The Conficker Worm was expected to do its dastardly best on April 1st, 2009. Apparently that didn’t happen – no great apocalyptic event…
So far, so good.

Except for this news from The Inquirer.
According to reports, Conficker has updated itself and dumped a mystery payload on infected computers. The data package seems to be a keystroke logger and so the worm is probably after secret data.

Your computer may be already infected.

If you find out you’ve got the Conficker virus, Paul recommends that you disconnect from the internet and find a machine that isn’t infected, and get a copy of Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool.
